My very own personal view...

Contrast this photo taken out of my living room window to the ones on January 2nd, January 16th or February 16th.  Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a treehouse.

Sunflower Babies

My granddaughter and her dad are competing against friends to see who can grow the biggest sunflower this summer. I think this is a good start.

Exotic Impatiens

Perhaps when there are not so many beautiful works of nature art in my immediate surroundings, I will consider photographing something else. For now, I can't help myself. These are planted in pots on my back shady patio.

Nasturtiums on my porch

I'm growing these in a pot on my porch from seeds. I can't wait to see blooms.

Nasturtiums have peppery flowers that are perfect for use in salads, herb vinegars, appetizers and garnishes.

Here is a recipe for Nasturtium Butter:
Ingredients
1 pound butter, softened
1 quart nasturtium blossoms
juice of 1 lemon
In a food processor or blender add the butter, nasturtiums and lemon juice and process until completely mixed. Use on seafood or vegetables. You can also add minced garlic to this if you wish for a variation.

Fuschias

I planted four hanging pots full of fuschias. Two of them are thriving and the other two have lost most of their flowers. I can't figure out why.

By the way, Wikipedia says it is properly spelled Fuchsia.

These are take-out chicken wings from The City Club in Ogden, Utah. They're the best around.

Wow - what a great concert; their last in North America this year. We're so happy we went - our 6th anniversary present to each other.

Beautiful Birds

We caught these birds feeding outside our kitchen window, but we can't identify them with our handy reference chart. Do you know what kind of birds these are?

Birds need baths too

This is a new bird bath for our shade garden. It is very heavy; I almost couldn't get it around to the garden, but I love the color.

My New Garden - Planted!

See this post on April 10th for the before photo. I've planted four tomato plants upside down; a cherry, grape, and two large varieties. I've also planted herbs on the top. You will see more during the summer if I'm successful.

My mom always told me not to plant before Mother's Day, but I just couldn't wait!

My Current Read

Although this book isn't entirely about knitting, it is a good read. I would recommend it. To go to The Friday Night Knitting Club website, click here.

Ginormous!

Check out this huge tulip. Those are my almost eight-year-old granddaughter's hands holding it for size reference.
